For someone whose strength never fails to amaze me

You died little remnants when she passed
Claws digging into soft flesh
Forlorn bird, reprieve you seek

Coffin driven into hard ground
Nerves stiffen, muscles tense
Tears beckon with intense gripe
Pummel with acute pang

Hard to fathom yes
Astounding clout possess
Your floundering heart, dimming but
Burning with a fire intense

You are light
You dim not.
