Evanescence

You know how ephemeral things are often perceived as beautiful?

Well, what about fervor that has been cursorily rekindled and then crushed?

And that fleeting sense of familiarity that warms your molded glass heart.

Hope is a transient thing.

For some messed up reason, it presents itself overwhelmingly at the most comfortable moments.

But comfort is treacherous.

You wish you can ensconce yourself in the arms of that perilous, duplicitous quality forever.

Hope is a grisly thing.

Dayre #4

Good afternoon ~

Today is a happy day because it's FRIDAY! Even though I'm having a constant headache.

Can't wait to end work so that I can finally go home and get some well deserved sleep

I didn't post anything yesterday because I think there was something wrong with the server and I couldn't get anything uploaded. So here goes!

Yesterday's lunch:

Super delicious salad my mommy whipped up, coupled with steamy miso soup and some cabbage and mushrooms dish.
Mad delicious chicken soup udon

Even more delicious oyster miso soup udon!

I'm in love with Japanese dishes.

I still remember vividly the taste of that AMAZING ramen I had on my first night in Tokyo 3 years ago. It was a cold winter night, and that lovely bowl of HOT ramen... SHIOK!
I was ecstatic to be able to catch the Sleeping Beauty ballet performance by the Singapore Dance Theatre last night. I've been a fan of ballet performances since I was young. I love watching the beautiful ballerinas prancing around gracefully onstage.

Anyway, here's my dinner before the performance:

What are burgers without fries right? RIGHT?!

*nods vehemently*

Tried the burger and fries at The Burger Bar. It was a novel experience for me, being able to customize my own burger.

As someone who hates tomatoes, I'm glad I was able to choose what goes into my burger and what doesn't.

I chose a Honey oat bun, with grilled chicken, lettuce and BACON. Then I added cheese fries and a drink into my order.

My lovely burger.

Anyway, we headed to the Esplanade theatre after dinner to finally catch the performance I've been waiting for!

The performance was wonderful!

It's my second time watching Sleeping Beauty but I was equally enthralled as the first time I watched it.

Outdated Post

Okay so tonight, I've decided to do an actual blog post.

If you're interested, I post daily (almost) on my Dayre so you can check it out :)

Had a team lunch on my first "monthsary" at work. It was to celebrate a colleague's birthday. We went to an Italian restaurant where we had the following:

I totally forgot the name of this dish. All I remember is that it was basically thin sashimi slices coupled with a huge chunk of cheese (that 'egg' looking thing).

My main course was Seafood Marinara, which is my absolute favourite pasta!

This one was packed full of mussels, clams and squid. It was the first time I had eaten a Marinara that had so much seafood in it. Worth every penny :p

Dessert was Lemon Sorbet. The sorbet was actually stuffed inside the lemon that you see above. I was so amazed by it because that's an ingenious idea!

Super 'jelat' Tomato Cream Udon at this Japanese restaurant in Clarke Quay. The portion was HUGE (as you can tell from the picu.

Had this wonderful seafood meal one weekend at Manhatten Fish Market :)

As you can see, I'm absolutely obsessed with seafood. Maybe its because I had a seafood allergy a year back, and now that I've kinda 'recovered' from it, my body is craving for it immensely.

Had lunch at Platypus Kitchen one week. The above is the restaurant's Pumpkin soup and the main dish: Lobster Roll.

It was my first time trying pumpkin soup so I was pleasantly surprised when it tasted sweet. I've never really been a big fan of pumpkin so I'm a noob when it comes to pumpkin dishes.

The lobster roll was REALLY GOOD. It had huge chunks of lobster in it. I admit, I had half expected the lobster to be negligible but I'm so glad it didn't turn out like that! The truffle fries that accompanied the roll were exceptional as well.

Had a wonderful dinner with the girls at Beer Market one Friday night. It was great to spend some quality time with them while enjoying the live music.

Beer Market works with an intriguing concept where the beer prices are constantly responding to demand. It's kinda like shares? So if more people are buying a particular beer, then the price for that beer will keep increasing. But like the real world, the bubble will eventually burst when prices get too high, and the price for the beer would drop substantially until the demand pushes the price upwards again.

Interesting huh?

I had initially wanted to try their Banana Bread Beer but the price was way too high so I settled for a Pear Cider instead.

Lunch at Genki Sushi was fantastic!! I found the whole 'automated delivery' thing highly fascinating. Call me "suaku", but I really enjoyed the experience! Particularly because the next day was CNY Eve hehehe :X

Last week's Nando's dinner. If you always face a dilemma in choosing sides to go with your Peri peri chicken at Nando's, I highly recommend the garlic bread. It's delicious.

Steak dinner just three days ago at Hot Tomatoes.

Til next time then ~

Good morning!

Oh the Monday blues ~

Really hate this wave of lethargy every Monday.

So today was an interesting day.

Attended a panel discussion and a professional grooming workshop by Citi today. I was quite surprised to see students from the local universities there because I thought it was an internal event.
The speaker for the workshop was pretty hilarious. She touched upon the definite "No"s for both guys and girls. And guess what one of them was? No long nails, especially on the last finger.

Today's lunch was duck with kway chap.

I've been having a kway chap craving for the LONGEST TIME. Finally satisfied it today hehe.

Dayre #2

TGIF Post on Dayre

Good morning everybody!

I'm so happy because today is FRIDAY  *spams emojis like an insane woman*

My favourite Soup Spoon for lunch!!!!

Had a kaya bun for breakfast this morning, but upon arriving at the office, my dearest intern friend gave me a ham and cheese croissant that she had prepared! It was yummylicious!

The most unfortunate thing occurred at the office today.

Upon returning back to the office from lunch, my colleague told me that the toilets were all clogged. She went upstairs and discovered that the toilets there were clogged too!

This was really bad news for someone like me who uses the toilet pretty frequently. Twice I had to go all the way down to the ground floor to use the toilet.

Thankfully the office management was really efficient and the toilet issue was fixed in around an hour.
Can I just express how happy I am that today is Friday?

Hahaha I'm insane. With joy.

Dayre #1

Testing testing.

Here's a short post from my Dayre, which I update daily (It was from last Friday):

Good morning!

Woke up 5 minutes later than my usual timing this morning because I was mad tired. Not too sure why because I slept pretty early, but I'm extremely tired right now as well.

Had a wonderful cheesecake for dessert last night. I was feeling especially down yesterday, and the cheesecake worked amazingly well at cheering me up.

Cheesecake is my favourite dessert!

Sudden realization that it's Friday (YAY!) so here's a gratuitous picture of myself hahaha.

My caifan lunch which was kinda pricey in my opinion?

$4.90 for 1 egg, 1 meat variety, and 1 vegetable.
